
For coating & frying:
Soya paneer (tofu) – 250 g (cut into cubes)
Maida – 3 tbsp
Cornflour – 3 tbsp
Salt – ½ tsp
Black pepper – ½ tsp
Red chilli flakes – ½ tsp
Water – as needed (to make thick batter)
Oil – for frying or shallow fry
For sauce:
Oil – 1 tbsp
Garlic – 1 tbsp finely chopped
Ginger – 1 tsp finely chopped
Green chilli – 1 slit
Onion – 1 medium, petals
Capsicum – 1 medium, diced
Red chilli sauce – 2 tbsp
Tomato ketchup – 1 tbsp
Soy sauce – 1 tsp
Vinegar – 1 tsp
Honey – 2 tbsp
Salt – a pinch
Black pepper – ½ tsp
Water – 3–4 tbsp
Cornflour slurry – 1 tsp cornflour mixed in 2 tbsp water
Sesame seeds – 1 tsp
Spring onion – for garnish
1. Prepare the paneer
2. Mix maida + cornflour + salt + pepper + chilli flakes.
3. Add water to make a thick batter.
4. Coat tofu cubes and fry until golden & crispy.
5. Keep aside.
1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan.
2. Add garlic, ginger, and green chilli – sauté till fragrant.
3. Add onion & capsicum – cook on high flame for 1 minute (keep crunchy).
4. Add red chilli sauce, ketchup, soy sauce, vinegar – mix well.
5. Add water and let it simmer.
6. Add cornflour slurry to thicken.
7. Add honey and mix (keep flame low so honey doesn’t burn).
8. Add salt & pepper
1. Add fried tofu cubes.
2. Toss for 1 minute so sauce coats well.
3. Sprinkle sesame seeds and spring onion.
